Project Overview

This multiple year collaboration has produced significant outcomes during its first year. MacPhail staff members have produced a number of educational materials to provide families and caregivers with musical activities to develop reading readiness for pre-school children.

In addition, MacPhail staff will present more than 300 programs in local libraries across the metro area during the two-year period to enhance this early childhood development.

MacPhail is also partnering with local library staff members in training on how to continue these skills into the future of library programming. Training sessions are being held and a public blog allows for sharing of tips and other information to anyone who is interested in the topic.

The music compact disc that is being distributed free of charge was produced by MacPhail staff. The musical “talent” for the CD was provided by existing MacPhail musicians and artists.
