For Genealogy Research: 8 programs be delivered by 4 local genealogists at various locations to encourage exploration of patrons' history and cultural heritage. For History Comes Alive: History comes alive is a series of interactive dramatic portrayals of African American men and women who shaped not just Minnesota, but the entire nation. 2 programs will be delivered in Spring 2016.

For Genealogy Research: Patrons will learn about tools that will assist them in researching family histories. Patrons will gain interest in researching family histories. Patrons will use or check out genealogy-related library materials. For History Comes Alive: Patrons will learn about Minnesota and African American history. Patrons will learn about specific contributions of African Americans in Minnesota. Patrons will find African American cultural heritage and history reflected in the programs.

Measurable Outcome(s)

For Genealogy Research: 100% learned about tools that will assist in researching family history. 100% gained interest in researching family history. 88% plan to use or check out related library resources. 100% rated the quality of the program good or better. Selected comments: “Excellent teacher, quick mind, well organized, answered questions with enthusiasm. “I appreciated this wonderful opportunity.”
For History Comes Alive: 100% of patrons rated the program good or better. 87% of adults and 100% of kids learned about Minnesota and African American history. 74% of adults and 67% of kids learned about specific contributions of African Americans in Minnesota. Selected responses: "Wonderful presenter, he was very easy to listen to..." "Excellent presenter...so glad this opportunity was available. Keep it up please."
