Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Youth will learn art or performance techniques from a professional instructor. In visual art classes, they will create a project to take home.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Very interactive program where kids learned about improvised performance.
Presenter started with a finger play and then kids and parents made hungry caterpillar puppets out of mixed materials. The puppets were a bit challenging to make but the kids really liked the final product.
Kids learned about the 4/4 beat, lots of percussion.
Presenter started with a finger play and then read part of a Dr. Seuss book followed by a pop up book craft. The older kids really enjoyed the activity. Younger kids mostly colored.
The 3D Hogwarts Castle class was an elaborate, hands-on project in which children explored various ways to create 3D sculpture from paper and recycled materials
Students cut out and decorate masks with a design of their choosing, could be anime, could be something else.
An awesome class. Nikki explained the background of Improv, got the kids to join in and play "improv games" and explained that lots of comedy is based on Improv.
Megan gave the kids basic pointers on using the impressive drawing tools and then let them get to drawing.
Children learned front and back, comparing puppet to their own heads. Also how to add different pieces (e.g., ears) to make a person or animal. The teacher broke the program into small segments, then let the children work on that one. Excellent instruction.
