Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Youth will learn art techniques and create projects from a teaching artist.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Drawing Minions: directed drawing and use of chalk pastels, kids made interesting minions of themselves--great details. Lezlee had the kids ages 6-12 draw a minion in pencil, trace with black sharpie, then add chalk to entire picture All the minion pictures turned out well and were all different. Kids drew self-portrait Minions then colored with chalk Lezlee can get a lot out of the kids in a short time. Their projects were wonderful!

Clay Cats and Dogs: Younger kids made a flat clay cat or dog, out of the colors of their choice while the older kids made a 3-D clay cat or dog The cats & dogs were all different and turned out well. The last 10 minutes kids could volunteer to have Lezlee show their cat or dog to the rest of the group.

Zendoodle: detailed, directed doodling with eye-catching results kids were really focused on these projects and about half finished within the hour--all had the knowledge to complete their project at home

Clay Minecraft Characters: Instructor gave small presentation on Minecraft characters with book, handed out magic mold clay, showed them how to mold shapes with it and then let them create.

Romero Britto Canvas: Kids learned about the painter and then learned how he made his paintings. Then they got to try out their own versions of his technique and made some really cool pieces.
