The library will host three Juneteenth celebrations of African-American freedom which will include interactive and performance art led by eight local arts and culture organizations. They will include aerialist performances, singing, story-telling, quilt-making, and youth-devised theatre performances.

Patrons will have the opportunity to participate in a community-created art project. Patrons will borrow or plan to borrow materials related to African-American history or culture. Patrons will feel that elements of African-American culture is honored with these celebrations.

76% said they had the opportunity to participate in a community created art project. 65% did or will borrow library materials related to African-American history or culture. 90% felt that elements of African-American culture were honored in the celebrations. Selected comments: “I think the community should have more programs and positive activities like this for the youth, and also more frequently!!!” “Great what the libraries did to make this happen” -“My stars and I really enjoy the event...honors Sisters...you are appreciated.”
