For Crafty Minnesota: Crafty Minnesota is a series of textile art classes for adults. For Transfabulous: TransFabulous is a series of art workshops for teens and adults, led by artists who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming, celebrating all gender identities and expressions through art. Each workshop series would focus on a specific arts medium, which may include visual art, spoken word/performance arts, music, writing, photography, digital art, textiles, etc.

For Crafty Minnesota: Patrons will have an opportunity to learn a textile craft; patrons will learn more about
textile craft practices or history; patrons will checkout related library materials. For Transfabulous: Patrons will learn about art techniques and media. Patrons will make connections with local transgender artists. Patrons will have the opportunity to learn the process of developing an art exhibition. Patrons will recognize the library as a place that values and affirms their gender identities and expressions. patrons will have the opportunity to express themselves through creating art. Patrons will have the opportunity to exhibit and/or perform their artwork in a public exhibition. Local transgender artists will gain visibility in the community.

Measurable Outcome(s)

For Crafty Minnesota: 100% practiced a textile craft. 98% learned something new about textile crafts or history. 48% have or plan to check out related library materials. 99% rated the quality of the program as good or better. Selected comments: “Excellent instructor – created a great learning environment for people at all skill levels. She even helped me w/ working out a pattern.” “Have tried to learn to knit for years & the hands on approach really helped!”

For Transfabulous: 100% learned about different art techniques and media. 100% had the opportunity to express themselves through art. 83% made connections with local transgender/gender non-conforming artists. 83% recognized the library as a place that values and affirms their gender identities and expressions. 100% rated the quality of the program as good or better. Selected comments: “I appreciate this program being offered and found it very informative" "[The teacher was} affirming, informative, insightful and talented.”
