Project Overview

Dakota County Library sponsored an event at the Heritage Library in Lakeville entitled "This Land: Woody Guthrie's Life and Times presented by Charlie Maguire.

People around the globe know Woody Guthrie, and for this reason he has grown to become not only an American icon, but as folksinger Oscar Brand once called him, "a citizen of the world". This presentation by Charlie Maguire will include some of his best-loved songs, along with readings and photographs, in a program of approximately 45 minutes. Designed as a presentation, students were invited to bring their own guitars and play along on some of the selections!

Project Details

Date and Location: June 29, 2010 - Heritage Library in Lakeville.

Attendance: 16 participants.

A truly intergenerational offering.
