Project Overview

This was the first major program sponsored by Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA) with FY2010 Legacy funds. In conjunction in planning with the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, the exhibit featured nationally-known photographer, Clyde Butcher, and then incorporated Minnesota photographers, writers and speakers to complement the project.

Another major component of the program was using 10% of the metro-wide funds to purchase Butcher’s photography books for all of the member systems in MELSA. Unique displays were featured in several of the libraries to promote the exhibit at the James J. Hill Library and to spark additional interest in black and white landscape photography.
