Anoka County Library - Bunker Beach Opening Day
Anoka County Library sponsored musical entertainment and promoted the 2010 Summer Reading Program at the opening day at Bunker Beach on June 11, 2010.
Close to 1000 people attended opening day at Bunker Beach and everyone there was able to hear and enjoy the music provided by the George Maurer Group. Young and old enjoyed the music as the band played a wide range of classic rock, golden oldies and popular tunes.

Provided the venue and audience. Anoka County Library provided the musical entertainment and library staff to promote library programs and services.
180 people stopped by the library table and picked up information about summer reading, Legacy events like Club Book and discussed library services. Many commented on how much fun it was to see their librarian out in the community. People commented on how much fun they were having listening to the band and they were pleased to hear their vote in 2008 was providing something directly to them. This was a great way to reach non-library users and people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy live music.
