With guitar in hand, musician/storyteller Bill Jamerson takes his audience on a musical journey with songs about the lumber camps - working in the woods, living in a bunkhouse, the hardships of river drives, the importance of camp food?and going into town in the spring.

Knowledge gained of what it was like to be a 'lumberjack.' Learn about the hardships and the friendships made. Learn the history of how the land was cleared - and how the lumber industry was started.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees learned many things about the early logging camps - how dangerous the job was, how a logging camp was organized, background of the logging industry. Comments include: "Lumberjacks were fun loving, hardworking, big eaters." "Lumberjacks are responsible for some 'sayings' we still use today that came from the lumber camps." "Very well done. Bill knows his stuff...and makes it interesting."
