Project Overview

Staff from The Design Station in Alexandria will come to the libraries to give participants an opportunity to create and assemble decorative holiday signs using board. Attendees will learn the process -- from sanding the board to sealing the finished project.

Participants will learn various techniques and how to work with different materials in creating the DIY art project.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Participants learned how to create a DIY sign from start to finish - and left with a finished project they can display. When asked what they learned from this program, participant comments include: "I usually don't feel like a very crafty person but I liked how I was able to try different techniques. It worked well - and they (teachers) offered great tips/help." "I learned a new skill - painting...and unlocked creativity!"
