MN Author and historian Mary Krugerud talks about her book "The Girl in Building C: The True Story of a Teenage Tuberculosis Patient." Mary will talk about tuberculosis, its history in Minnesota, and the girl whose letters from a Minnesota sanitarium formed the basis for her book.

Attendees will learn about the history of tuberculosis and its treatment before the advent of antibiotics. They will learn specifically about sanatoriums in Minnesota through the letters of a girl who lived in one for years during the 1940s. Participants will gain an understanding of what life was like for people living in these institutions and how different medical treatment was then.
