Project Overview

Wild Things Zoo Attraction is a professional animal care company that creates custom attractions for our Summer Reading Program. They bring animals and experience from all over the world, and teach patrons that 'we have more to learn from animals, than animals have to learn from us.'

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

We distributed evaluation forms to all patrons following the end the program. We hoped that all participants would learn something new about animals and our local ecosystems, and how our interactions with them can shape our past and present. We hoped that this popular program would be a successful kick-off for our Summer Reading Program, and tied in animal books and displays to encourage reading.

Measurable Outcome(s)

96% of participants said that after watching this program they learned something new about animals, and/or was introduced to a new animal. 77% said that they enjoyed this program because it helped them to increase their knowledge and better understand a topic. 91% said that this program increased their interest in animal behavior and/or ecosystems, and how we interact with them, and 96% said that they would attend a similar program in the future. Public comments included, 'I had a good time, presenters were excellent at teaching in a fun way,' and a librarian commented, 'many people stopped me to comment on the show and to ask to have more. Many were amazed at the quality of the presentation.'
