Heidi Hughes: Bird Watching by the Book and by the App
Heidi Hughes of our local Audubon Society did a few programs about bird watching, specifically using the library and the books and electronic materials available there for assistance.

We hoped that patrons would learn something new about bird-watching resources available to them through the library. We also hoped that it would increase their interest in Minnesota's bird population. We distributed evaluation forms and collected public comments after the program.
96% of respondents said that they learned something new about bird watching resources available to them through the library. 94% said that they enjoyed the program because it helped them to learn a new skill. 100% said that the program increased their interest in Minnesota's bird population. Heidi was able to compare birding statistics for our area with all other counties in Minnesota. Public comments included: "very interesting, lots of valuable information" and "very knowledgeable presenter also prepared with material."
