Jill Johnson: Little Minnesota in WWII
Author Jill Johnson visited our region to discuss her book, 'Little Minnesota in WWII,' which features the stories behind 142 fallen heroes from Minnesota's littlest towns.

We hoped that after this program patrons would have learned something new about an author's creative process, and/or the cultures of Minnesota's smallest towns. We also hoped that it would increase interest in the history of WWII and its impact on Minnesota. We distributed evaluation forms after the event.
100% of respondents said that after watching this program they have learned something new about the author's creative process, and/or the cultures of Minnesota's smallest towns. 96% said that they enjoyed this program because it helped them to increase their knowledge or better understand this topic. 96% said that this program increased their interest in this author, her book, and/or small-town Minnesota history. Comments included, 'moving and educational' and 'excellent presentation!'
In Hallock the use of City Hall was provided for free. In Karlstad the hall was also free, and volunteers provided help setting up and cleaning up.
