WTIP - Letters to Home(Cook County) during World War I & II
The Cook County Historical Society and WTIP will collaborate on producing a series of radio features of theatrical recordings and historical interpretation of 50 letters, during World War I from 1917 through 1919 and during World War II, written by Cook County residents who served during the 2 world wars. The program celebrates the centennial anniversary of American involvement in WWI. Recordings will be shared with the local historical society for their archives and exhibits.
$1,470,000 the first year and $1,666,000 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
There will be an awareness and education to the community of history of the world wars and also of early community members.Arts and culture will be interwoven into facets of community life. People will trust Minnesota's stewardship of public arts, culture and history funding.Arts and culture will thrive in Minnesota.There will be an increase in the number of Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities, abilities and incomes who participate in the arts and cultural activities.
