KOJB - Environmental Voices
A program featuring expert commentary on various environmental topics with a focus on Minnesota and the Leech Lake Reservation. This weekly show is centered on the Native American value that humans must protect the Earth. Native American culture and history is interwoven into this environmental program to give everyone a better understanding of how we should care for the things the creator has given to us. KOJB interviews folks with Leech Lake Division of Resource Management, The Leech Lake Health Division, and other local experts. Among the topics includes biodiversity, eco-friendly construction, solar energy, genetically engineered food, reducing waste and over consumption.
$1,470,000 the first year and $1,666,000 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
Increased interest in Native American culture through weekly programs targeting underserved audience in our listening area. Increased interest in the culture of Indians in Minnesota. Survey of listeners will allow KOJB to determine the success of the educational aspects of the program.
