KMOJ - Sex Trafficking: Breaking Free
This two-part radio documentary which will consist of two one-hour program is a follow up to the exploration of the impact commercial sexual exploitation has on our enitre community, as well as efforts to end this form of modern-day slavery. Sex trafficking serves a market built on exploitation, violence, and brutality. This program zeros in a breaking free from "the life" ; through strategies and resources being developed to help youth become free of this exploitation and oppression. We will learn how various partners, including law enforcement and lawmakers, along with inspiring survivors and dedicated activists, are all coming together with a unified goal: to stop sex trafficking in our community.
$4,150,000 the first year and $3,900,000 the second year are to the Minnesota Public Television Association for production and acquisition grants according to Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.18. Of this amount, $650,000 the first year is for a grant to Twin Cities Public Television to produce the Vietnam: Minnesota Remembers project. Any production costs associated with this project incurred on or after February 1, 2017, are eligible for reimbursement under this section as long as these funds are available under subdivision 2.
