KBEM - Talking About Jazz
A radio program hosted by Joan Griffith, jazz musician, who talks and plays with other Twin Cities Jazz musicians. Many of the participants are young, upcoming jazz musicians. The format is intimate conversation about music and Jazz performance. These recorded shows become historical resources for future generations of jazz researchers and enthusiasts.
$1,470,000 the first year and $1,666,000 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
Listeners will gain a better understanding of how musicians work together, collaborating to create jazz. Listeners will also be introduced to new artists who may not have had the opportunity to record their own music.
