Project Overview

In reaching out to students, many of whom are brand-new to the state (if not the country), BaseMNt Music introduces a new audience to Minnesota arts and culture at a critical time, allowing young adults and brand-new Minnesotans alike a chance to be a part of both the creation of and participation in a new cannon of artistic work, that by it's nature, is uniquely Minnesotan; inspiring students to see themselves as having ownership of our cultural heritage. Drawing on the diversity of our campus communities, BaseMNt Music fills a gap ? providing artistic and cultural engagement across the state and across the globe through music's universal language ? increasing the likelihood of a generation of Minnesotans invested in our state's rich cultural legacy.
