WTIP - Community Voices on North Shore Morning and North Shore Weekend
2 hour staff produced daily programming surrounding daily life on the north shore plus a 3 hour recap on Saturday mornings. Featuring 3-6 minute creative, artistic pieces and interviews that present a variety of perspectives on different aspects of the culture and way of life from community members representing different areas and aspects of the North Shore region. WTIP has won many Associated Press awards for features produced for this programming.
$1,470,000 the first year and $1,666,000 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
More locally and Minnesota focused content. More knowledge and awareness of the way that history affects peoples lives and the knowledge can help people make informed decisions for the future. Increased potential for artists in Minnesota to earn income from their art & more artists have their work showcased on public broadcasting. Locally, an appreciation for the work being done by many to enhance living in a rural community.
