KKWE - Voices of Ojibwe Tradition
This project will bring forth the beauty of Ojibwe tradition in Minnesota. Voices from traditional healers, drum keepers, dancers, pow wow people, spiritual advisers and others important to the Anishinaabe culture will be featured.
KKWE aired two Voices of Ojibwe Tradition sessions during the grant period.
$1,470,000 the first year and $1,666,000 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
People will trust Minnesota's stewardship of public arts, culture and history funding. Arts, culture and history will thrive in Minnesota. This program will increase locally focused content and Minnesota focused content produced by public radio. This program increases knowledge and awareness of the way that history affects people's lives and how that knowledge can help people make informed decisions for the future.
