To discover music in a different genre, to understand the ability of language and how a few words can be used to make a song. To be introduced to different musical instruments and the style of Blue Grass music.
The question How would you rate the program? was asked in the adult evaluation. The rating scale used was "Great, Very Good, Average, Below Average and Poor." Of those adults that answered the question, the results were: Great: 90; Very Good: 44; Average: 8; Below Average: 3; Poor:0. The results, 98% of the attendees rated the program as a very positive experience.
The question Would you attend another program of this kind if it were offered? was asked. The responses were: Yes: 173; No:10; Maybe: 8. The results, 95% of the attendees rated the program as a very positive experience. The following answers are from children that were surveyed. Prior to the program, the question How many kids have seen a program at the library before? was asked. 53 children said they had been to a previous program. After the program, the question How many kids would come back to the library for another program? was asked. 174 children said yes, they would attend another program. Prior to the program, the question How many children have checked out books about music? was asked. 85 children had checked out books on the topic of music. After the program, the question How many kids want to check out a book about music now to learn more about it? was asked. 115 children said they would check out a book on music. From evaluations completed by adults, the question "What did you enjoy most about this program?" was asked. Responses included: "Lively music and good audience participation." "The enthusiasm of the performers and getting the audience involved. Volunteers for band for the last song." "These guys are really fun, and I loved the music. My kids really enjoyed the music too."
"I enjoyed how they related songs to fairy tales or familiar rhymes." "Really upbeat for Elem. Ed. Students." "The musicians involved the students with appropriate and fun activities. The music was good as well as entertaining." "I liked how the show was so interactive and engaging for all of the grades."

Partner Organization Contribution/Role in the Program: The eight (8) public libraries set up the dates and times for the programs, contacted schools, and promoted the programs through posters, newspaper ads, radio announcements, and provided the space for the programs. The public schools arranged schedules and provided the space for the program.
