Happy Days are Here Again – MHS Partnership Program
An entertaining evening that will draw area residents together in an outdoor setting to learn about and appreciate the songs of the Greatest Generation from the 30s, 30s and 50's. To offer area residents high quality cultural programs through the public library.
66 evaluations were returned with 63 respondents strongly agreeing that the program enabled them to see a performer they would not have seen or known about otherwise. 53 rated the quality of the performance as Excellent or Good, with the majority stating they would recommend the program to their friends or family. Responses to the question, What did you like best about this program?:
"I liked that she (performer) told al little about each song before she sang the song. Enjoyed the era of the music. Gave me insight into what it was like for my parents and what music sounded like." "Very pleasant, brought back lots of memories." "The songs and the music." "This was a different kind of music than we usually hear."
Pioneerland Library System and CRPLSA, MN Historical Society, Hutchinson Public Library, Hutchinson Library Board, Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, Hutchinson Downtown Merchants Association. Partner Organization(s) Contribution/Role in the Program: MN Historical Society provided the performer and marketing materials, the Hutchinson Public Library and the community of Hutchinson provided the location and the audience. The Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Merchants Association helped organize and promote the program as part of the weekly Music in the Park series.
