Project Overview
Attended the Jeffers Petroglyphs Historic Site. Long before the pyramids were built and before the first stone was erected at Stonehenge, there were carvings in the rock. This was a holy site to the native people who lived in and around this area. The National Pipestone Monument is a holy site where the American Indian cultures have quarried the holy Pipestone for hundreds of years. The third stop was a traditional Indian Powwow. Traditional dancers, flute players, drumming, food and trading was experienced by all those present.
