Project Overview

The Minnesota Zoomobile program "All Things Connected" brings Minnesota animals to those people that might not have the opportunity to visit the Minnesota Zoo. The Zookeepers share information about the animals and how they help maintain the ecology of the state. Other animals or insects from tropical countries are also presented.

Date(s) of Program: Two (2) programs were held; Atwater Public Library and Spicer Public Library. Both programs were held on June 7, 2012. Attendance: Approximate total for both programs – 332.

To learn about the variety of animals located within the state of Minnesota and to encourage respect for the animals as well as have a one-on-one interaction with animals/insects not normally found within a household.

Evaluations: 12. Patrons enjoyed: "Animals & the info." "I liked to see the kinds of animals she brought and hear about them." What patrons learned from the program: "What the certain animals eat, how old they get, and things they do to protect themselves." "Things I didn't know before about some of them."
"First time seeing an armadillo. Touching the hides and seeing the scorpion." What patrons thought about the program? "It was great – would come again. Very informational!" "I loved it! So did my child!"
"Very educational, very good for the children."

Pioneerland Library System and Atwater Public Library and Spicer Public Library. Partner Organization Contribution/Role in the Program: Atwater Public Library promoted the program and provided the space for the program. Spicer Public Library promoted the program and provided the space for the program.
