Minnesota’s Civil War Experience Presented by Arn Kind of Historical Experiences
The intended outcome of the program is to stimulate patron imagination, creativity and interest in Minnesota history. It will also expose patrons to new art formats as well as create access to professional live art through history players reenacting people in Minnesota history. Live art is dynamic; patrons can experience and be inspired by the energy that comes from a live performance. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 78% strongly agreed that this was an enjoyable experience and 68% strongly agreed that they would attend a similar event. Comments: This is the best Civil War presentation I have ever heard, history class was never this good. The real life experiences of Minnesota Civil War soldiers. So much information on a large scale and personal details with a great display of physical artifacts, flags, uniforms, etc.
19 libraries provided space (and 7 partnered with schools), staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 18 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
