Anansi the Spider - Crawling into a library near you!
The intended outcome of the program is to stimulate patron imagination, creativity and interest in different art, music and culture. It will also expose patrons to new art formats as well as create access to professional live art through dynamic history players. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 64% strongly agreed that this was an enjoyable experience and 66% strongly agreed that they would attend a similar event. 25 people reported this was their first time attending a library program. Comments: I liked the active storytelling and drama, the children were enthralled, smiling and laughing! I liked that they also taught about acting. I liked the actors involving the children and the weaving of education in the play. More of this type of program that exposes our children to the theater arts.
26 libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 21 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
