Art and History of Henna Body Art with Kristy Johnson
The intended outcome of the arts program is to allow patrons the opportunity to create hands-on art projects and develop their skills as visual artists, such as creative problem solving, self-expression, small motor development, etc. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
Surveys were distributed to participants at all programs. 84% strongly agreed that this was an enjoyable experience and 80% strongly agreed that they would attend a similar event. Comments: This was something different from the range "norm". I was able to spend time with my niece, bonding over an interesting activity. It was nice to have this offered in our small town - exotic topic that would never usually be available to me.
20 libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs and approximately 16 regional newspapers provided marketing through press releases, photos and interviews with artists and performers.
