Museum Passes
The museum pass program offered patrons the opportunity to check out passes for admission to regional museums to learn about their rich local history and culture of our region. The intended outcome of the Museum Pass program was to increase awareness and provide access to the regions cultural, historical, and educational centers by providing free admission tickets. Patrons checked a box indicating how many times that had visited a location prior to using the free ticket..
3164 passes were used for a return rate of 45%. Those using the Museum Passes were asked to check a box on the ticket indicating if they had visited that museum before. Of the tickets marked, 53% had never been to that particular museum before. 14% had visited that museum at least twice before using the free pass.
All museums and historical sites agreed to a 20% reduction in ticket price for reimbursement of tickets. This savings allows us to provide more tickets. 7000 free museum passes were distributed between all public libraries. Library staff distributed passes and provided additional promotion for the museum pass programs and approximately 20 regional newspapers.
