Creativity Tank - Storybook Theater, Felting, Heart Book, Paper Ornaments
The intended outcome of the arts program is to allow patrons the opportunity to create hands-on art projects and develop their skills as visual artists, such as creative problem solving, self-expression, small motor development, etc. A survey was distributed to receive feedback from those attending the programs.
A survey was distributed for participants to fill out. 99% of those filling out the survey stated that this was and enjoyable experience and 87% would attend a similar program. Participants liked the opportunity to be creative and learn and work together. In the school setting a teacher commented that students were engage the whole time and were able to use their creativity and fine motor skills. Participants learned about the variety of artists in the region, about plays and theater productions and origami. One parent noted "My daughter was full of ideas for stories afterwards. She enjoyed the take home craft, but really got into the story making aspect."
The following public libraries provided space, staff, and additional promotion for the programs: Aurora, Babbitt (held at the Northeast Range School), Baudette, Cloquet, Cook, Duluth, Eveleth (held at the Franklin Elementary School), Gilbert, Grand Marais, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, Hoyt Lakes, Mt. Iron, Silver Bay, Two Harbors, and Virginia libraries and approximately 16 regional newspapers.
