Polar explorer and Minnesota native Lonnie Dupre shared stories of his arctic adventures and his most recent attempt at a solo January climb of Mt. McKinley in Alaska. This program took place at 6 locations in the LARL region from February 9 to February 11, 2015.

Those in attendance will gain: increased awareness of the topic of climate change and the effect on polar regions; insight into the life of a famous Minnesotan polar explorer; information on the values of setting and achieving goals, teamwork, overcoming obstacles; information on the equipment needed to survive in and explore in extreme cold.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees were asked to complete evaluation forms. The program was rated very high by attendees. Attendees appreciated the pictures that were presented as well as learning about mountain climbing.
