Project Overview
The Lake Agassiz Regional Library, in partnership with the Detroit Lakes Library Fund, commissioned artist/sculptor Hans Gilsdorf to create the Child with Book sculpture for the grounds of the Detroit Lakes Public Library. The sculpture is anticipated to be completed in September of 2015.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
The goal of this project is to create an aesthetically pleasing piece of artwork that will commemorate 100 years of service at the Detroit Lakes Public Library. The Child with Book statue will remind the community of Detroit Lakes, and visitors to the area, of the history and importance of this Carnegie building. Expected Outcomes include a community proud and appreciative of the artwork. This will be measured by gathering opinions and anecdotal observations.
