Project Overview
Staff from Detroit Lakes Library and the Becker County Museum led a bus trip to the Lindbergh House Historic Site and Camp Ripley Minnesota Military Museum, both in Little Falls, Minnesota. The trip included attendees from Mahnomen, Frazee, Ulen, Lake Park, Cormorant and Detroit Lakes. The trip was limited to adults, 18 and older. Registration took place by calling the Detroit Lakes Library. The bus left at approximately 8am from Detroit Lakes with arrival at the Lindbergh House Historic Site scheduled for approximately 10am. The group toured the Lindbergh Interpretive Center and Charles Lindbergh’s boyhood home. At approximately 1pm the group traveled to the Minnesota Military Museum located on the grounds of Camp Ripley, 12 miles north of Little Falls. At the museum the group had the opportunity to tour and to visit the gift shop. The group left Camp Ripley at approximately 3pm, arriving back in Detroit Lakes at around 5pm. The trip took place September 13, 2014

Surveys were collected from those that attended. Attendees rated the trip very high. Comments included that the attendees appreciated the guide's knowledge, attendees appreciated being able go to the Minnesota sites especially for those who couldn't otherwise afford the trip. Several attendees commented that the trip exceeded their expectations.
