Project Overview
Author Erin Hart and musician Paddy O’Brien offered a program of mystery and music. Erin discussed her mysteries set in Ireland, featuring archaeologist Cormac McGuire and pathologist Nora Gavin. Paddy played Irish traditional music and discussed his memoir “The Road to Castlebarnagh.” This program took place at 3 locations in the LARL region on November 3 and 4, 2014.

Residents of Detroit Lakes and Moorhead will have the opportunity to discuss the literature of Erin Hart and the traditional Irish music of Paddy O’Brien. This cultural and entertaining event will reach the general public and the residents of a senior center. Evaluation forms will be handed out to participants at all three events. In addition, LARL staff will report observations and conversations with participants after the event.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Surveys were collected from attendees. Comments from the evaluations included that people enjoyed the stories and information about Irish culture and history. Attendees also enjoyed the Irish music. The presenters were very knowledgeable about the topics.
