Polka Sol

Anita, Ann and Joan have known each other for 30+ years and performed together off and on. They each are accomplished musicians in their own right and decided to put aside the instruments they were born to play and learn a new instrument. The accordion and violin were the instruments they decided to learn and polka music was the genre. They stated that they aren't experts with these instruments and that it has been a learning experience for all three of them. The program they presented was both entertaining and educational and it was obvious by the laughter and applause from the audience that everyone enjoyed it immensely. Anita and Ann played the accordion with Joan playing the violin for most of the songs but Joan and Ann played a duet with the mandolin and guitar which held the audience until the last note. The performers talked about each instrument and how it has changed and evolved based on country of origin as well as ease of travel from country to country as people immigrated.
