Project Overview

Carol will present Build a Better World'to our libraries, telling participatory stories with the common theme of a global family. These multi-cultural stories feature lively, interactive stories and songs for children of all ages. Carol states that she strives to stretch children's minds, encourage laughter, provide another point of view and spark imagination, making all of our common threads more visible. These stories and songs feature animals, heroes, not-too-scary monsters, tricksters and more, striving to encourage kindness and respect.

Carol is a teacher by training (elementary and secondary) and has been presenting programs for over 30 years at libraries, schools, festivals, fairs, theaters and corporate sites (Honeywell ACE, McGraw Hill).

The audience will enjoy the professional, interactive and enlightening presentation by Carol. The program will introduce the attendees to a variety of different cultures and global perspectives with an emphasis on commonality that is shared by children of all ages. It is anticipated that her stories will spark interest in exploring other peoples and cultures and provide a greater appreciation and respect for our global community. The audience will be informally surveyed by observation and post-program anecdotal responses.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees enjoyed the stories and songs that were performed by Ms. McCormick and gained a greater appreciation of different cultures and heritages from around the world. Many participants joined in to learn and understand during this highly interactive presentation.
