Project Overview

This was our third year of a communities-wide reading program. The Blue Earth Community Library, Elmore Public Library and Muir Library worked together to make this program successful. This year we read
Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. Along with several opportunities for discussion of the book,
we hosted William Kent Krueger and Rachael Hanel, her memoir is We'll be the last ones to let you down. She visited each library and facilitated a writing workshop to encourage people to try their hand at writing their own (hi)story. Rachael also teaches at MSU-Mankato. Blue Earth Area Community Education helped plan a bus tour to New Ulm to go along with this event, too. All events took place throughout the month of April and the program was announced in January.
