Project Overview

The theme of this year’s powwow is taking care of our environment. WGZS will conduct interviews with Tribal, state and other government agencies about how to take care of the world we live in and why that is so important. WGZS will broadcast live from the powwow and record and edit the live coverage down to a one-hour show that will air on WGZS and will be archived online.

The powwow coverage will help to interweave Native American culture and history into more facets of Native and non-Native communities.The live and recorded broadcast will give Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities and incomes more access to our Native American cultureWGZS will provide an estimated number of listeners reached through radio broadcasts, estimated number of people reached through the internet and social media as well as the number of stations that aired the segments
