KKWE - The Glass Lady Project
This project will feature artists and individuals in our community who have history and a story to share. The show will be 15 minutes in length to include artist interviews, featured music, autobiography, and personal histories told by our senior citizens. This program will air biweekly over the course of the grant.
$1,600,000 each year is appropriated for a grant to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.19.
Arts and history will be interwoven into every facet of community life through the public broadcast and the recorded audio formats available to other public radio stations. KKWE's The Glass Lady Project will be a diverse program with aspects of art culture and history.? It will showcase individuals, both artists and senior citizens. The Glass Lady Project is? a collaborative effort with our local art and music scene to bring more education and increased exposure to local artists and to give senior citizens residing in care facilities a voice to share their personal histories of their communities, their talents, and their lives. The public - regardless of age, ethnicity, income and ability - will have the opportunity to be included in this programming. Through increased exposure the featured?artists will be able to gain opportunities to perform in other venues for income.
