Art & Culture Live!: Community Collaborations - Wildflowers of Shooting Star Scenic Byway
Wildflowers of Shooting Star Scenic Byway by Prairie Visions (LeRoy, MN) created a brochure featuring more than 60 wildflowers found along the Shooting Star bike trail. Accompanying the launch of the brochure, an introduction was given to 5th & 6th grade students for the LeRoy-Ostrander Public School along with a fieldtrip to view some of the flowers. Following the field trip, Wildflower Walks based on the brochures have been provided by Prairie Visions

Partner Organization(s) Contribution/Role in the Program: The Library assisted in the publicity for the program. The Public School provided time, teacher supervision, and transport for the field trip.
Program Outputs: Outputs are things you can count such as attendance, number of new participants, and the number of attendees who had never been at a similar event, and so on.
The field trip had 55 students attend with 5 adults accompanying.
The first Wildflower Walk during Lake Louise State Park Family Day (no date provided) had approximately 25 people taking the full Wildflower Tour.
The second Wildflower Walk also had about 25 people attending.
1250 brochures have been used on tours or sent to tourist locations.

Prairie Visions reports that there has been an increased interest of youth and adults in native wildflowers. The DNR has communicated they have witnessed a similar rise in interest of local campers. A State Park Ranger had youth checking that they had correctly identified some species of wildflower.
