“Big Brother has Wheels” by author Patrick Mader had Mader present a multi-generational program centered on his books for the Stewartville Public Library (Stewartville, MN). The presentation included enlarged illustrations, a PowerPoint presentation, and hands-on materials for children.

Partner Organization(s) Contribution/Role in the Program: The Learning Center assisted with the development of the program. The Civic Center provided space for the program.

Program Outputs: Outputs are things you can count such as attendance, number of new participants, and the number of attendees who had never been at a similar event, and so on.

The program had 10 people in attendance. Mader’s books have experienced increased circulation since the program.

The project coordinator reported that children really enjoyed seeing enlarged printed pages and hadn’t realized it was part of the bookmaking process.  Mader stayed after the program to discuss the importance of family; this was greatly appreciated by the audience.
