Project Overview

Rose Ensemble Community Concert received FY2010 funding although the program has not taken place by the time of this report. The Austin Public Library (Austin, MN) will host the Rose Ensemble in a concert entitled Music from the Land of 3 Faiths. This program will enhance the ongoing dialogues on race and culture in the Austin community by tapping into a long-standing interest in music. The Rose Ensemble will also host an educational workshop at the Library on the day of the concert.

Partner Organization(s): Paramount Theatre

Partner Organization(s) Contribution/Role in the Program: The Paramount Theatre is assisting in the program development of the concert. The Theatre is also hosting the event and providing the personnel to assist with seating and concessions.

The Austin Public Library will survey attendees to determine how many have not previously been to a concert. The Library and Theatre will track the attendance of the concert.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The exit survey from the concert will question increased awareness of diversity of music from the Middle East, whether it was a positive experience, and increased perception of libraries as providers of local arts and culture.
