Project Overview

The Vetted Programs were created by request from SELCO public library directors and intended to involve less library staff time dedicated to individual programming plans. Library staff expressed a desire for a simple, turnkey program approach that they could easily implement and manage for their communities. SELCO and the Vetting Committee maintain a catalog of performers on contract with SELCO to provide their services. Laura has multiple programs available featuring Celtic music and instruments. Celtic can describe music from a number of areas, including Ireland and Scotland, regions of France, Northern Spain, Wales and Nova Scotia. She performs traditional music on a fascinating array of wind-powered instruments, including a variety of wooden flutes and tin whistles, various types of bagpipes (bellows and blown), concertina, gemshorn and voice.
