Legacy Sponsorship Grants: Take a Step Into Jackson County History
Plum Creek Library System member libraries in Jackson, Lakefield and Heron Lake offered free admission tickets from June - August 2010 to visit Historic Fort Belmont (1873 farmhouse, blacksmith shop, log cabin and stockade).
400 tickets were handed out.
158 tickets were turned in at Fort Belmont.
95 of the tickets were handed out at the Jackson library, 52 from Lakefield and 11 from Heron Lake.
The Fort Belmont Foundation was extremely grateful for the purchase of the 400 tickets. It helped their revenues which was much needed.
By advertising the free tickets we got new people in the library and more people to visit the Fort.
A new set of Jackson County History books were purchased for each library which will replace the copies which are in poor condition.
Measurable Outcomes may be collected by survey, anecdotal responses, pre-test/post-test, observations; End user change in Behavior, Attitude, Skills, Knowledge, Condition and/or Status
People were thrilled to get the free tickets. Many had not ever been to Fort Belmont before and several attendees commented that they had not been there for years.
