What is history? That is the question that Annette Atkins asked at the beginning of her hour long program. She then invited each member of the audience to share a story about their past that was essential to their history. She explained that every time we talk about how our mothers made grape jelly or chip dip, we're constructing the stories that give meaning and context to our lives. It is our history. Atkins encouraged the audience to look at history from a different perspective. The audience went away with a fresh new way of looking at history.
