Legacy Sponsorship Grants 2010: Author Visit-Rae Eighmey and Debbie Miller
Rae Eighmey and Debbie Miller talked about their book Potluck Paradise. They spoke of their process of going through hundreds of recipes from cookbooks from the 1950's. They mentioned that certain recipes were so popular at that time that they were included in almost every cookbook they looked in.
Rae demonstrated how to make cucumber pickles and Debbie demonstraed how to cut the heart from a head of cabbage.
The audience participated in the program by sharing stories of their memories of the 50's.
Music from the 50's was played during the intro to the program and icebox cookies were served.
Door prizes were given out to three lucky winners.

The audience gained knowledge in the food prepared during the 1950's. It was fun to reminisce and share memories of picnics, family gatherings, church socials and other gatherings that usually involved bringing a dish to pass or "potluck".
