Legacy Sponsorship Grants 2010: Author Brian Freeman
On Saturday May 22, 2010 the Fulda Memorial Library sponsored author Brian Freeman. Brian Freeman spoke about how he got into the business of writing and about his current books. He also read an excerpt from his latest book and took questions from the audience. He was available to sign his books at the end of the program.
Partners: The Fulda Memorial Library Board served refreshments at the program.
13 people attended the program.
Measurable Outcomes may be collected by survey, anecdotal responses, pre-test/post-test, observations; End user change in Behavior, Attitude, Skills, Knowledge, Condition and/or Status.
The attendees learned many details about the trials of getting a book published; the process of putting a book together, ex. characters, setting, flow of story, editing, etc. I think most members of the audience were surprised at how complicated it is to be a published writer. The speaker was able to spend the time to talk to each attendee individually, making his visit to our community all that more special. We certainly have more people in the community interested in reading his books; demand for them, even before the program, has been high, even among patrons who don't usually read that genre.
