Project Overview

The Granny Readers brought stories to life with props and actions during their program on June 25, 2010. Some of the material they use is from a reader's theater group and other stories are their own adaptations. They used traditional stories as well as introducing the children to new stories.

Measurable Outcome(s)
  1. The children learned how stories from books can be acted out with simple props, movements and actions.
  2. Children saw that Grannies can create programs that entertain and encourage laughter.  Grannies have vivid imaginations.
  3. Children learned that they can create plays from theirfavorite stories and perform them for family members. For some children this was their first time checking out books from the library.
