The Vetted Programs were created by request of the SELCO public library directors. This turnkey program provides the opportunity for a variety of artists, musicians, authors, and storytellers to share their performances.

To have participants recognize the library is a place to experience quality programming.
Increase participants' knowledge of different arts and cultural heritage topics/programs.
Expose library patrons to arts, performances, events they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience in their community.

Evaluations were done using surveys, focus groups, and/or interviews.

Snake-mentioned several times. Alligator-everyone said the alligator. Amphibians. "Big snake", Huge Snake.
It was amazing to watch the range of children present - from toddlers to high school, it captured everyone's attention. Jamie was so informative and kept the pace moving, while taking questions and working well with the youngest kids.

When adults were asked to rate the overall quality of the program the results were as follows:
9/10, or 90%, rated the program a 5, the highest rating.
1/10. or 10% rated the quality of the program a 4.
2) Positive Experience
When surveyed how many felt the program was a positive learning experience, 8/10, 80% shared it was at the highest level of 5. 2/10, 20% rated it a 4.
3) Enhanced knowledge and understanding
When adults were surveyed if they felt the program enhanced their knowledge and understanding of today's topic, 8/10, 80% rated a 5, while 2/10, 20% rated it a 4.
4) More or less likely to think of library as a place to experience cultural or arts programming
This was great to review that 9/10, 90%, of our adults are now very likely to think of the library as a place to experience cultural or arts programming, and 1/10, 10% rated it a 4, more likely.
5) What did (participant) like best about this program?
"Having the kids be able to touch and hold the animals."
"That it was local here right in town."
"The kids being able to ask questions."

5) What did (participant) like best about this program?
Participants said they enjoyed the wide variety of reptiles they saw in the 40 minute program. They also enjoyed that they could touch and see the reptiles up close after the formal program was over. One participant said, "I'm usually afraid of reptiles, but they were presented in a way that made me start to think differently about them. They weren't scary."

Many commented on the interesting, interactive aspect of the program. It held the audiences interest.

4) Favorite part of the program?
Their favorite was the very large snake "Sunbeam" and "Harley" the alligator that had his mouth taped in electrical tape.
Also, the biggest part of the program at the end was getting to "touch" and interact with the real snake & alligator & see up close the other animals that RadZOO brought.
5) What do the kids want to learn more about now?
They would like to know more about different species of snakes and alligators, where they live in the world, and the lengths of different snakes.
More different types of amphibians in the world not just in the United States.
